Starting an Urgent Care Visit

After pulling up and verifying your patient, you can place them in an Urgent Care type visit by clicking “Start Visit” on the right panel. Next, you will select the state the patient is currently in and their preference on a video or Phone Visit. (Always ask about a Video visit prior to offering a Phone Visit) Click Here for details on State or Specifics for Phone Visits.

Selecting the Practice

In the dropdown, select “Amwell Medical” for the Urgent Care type visit. Click “Select from providers who are available now” and select “Any” in the dropdown t to select the next available provider. If the patient does not wan to see the provider that is selected, you can click “Find next available provider” to cycle to the next provider in line.

“Reminder” We cannot “Schedule” a medical visit for a specific date/time. Medical is always “On-Deman” or for “Right Now”

When is the Visit?

All Urgent Care visits will be set up for “Right Now”. We are not able to schedule Medical visits for a future Date/Time. On the screen you should have “Schedule for right now” selected, and then you can click “Next”.

Running Insurance

On this page, you are able to add the patient’s insurance information if it is not already on their profile. Make sure to confirm the Member ID Insurance Name and Primary Subscriber information are accurate before proceeding. Then hit “Next” to run RTE (Real-Time Eligibility) to determine the patient’s costs.

Completing Visit Setup

After RTE has run, you will be presented with a Confirmation screen and price. After you click “Complete Visit Setup” the patient can log into the website or app and should get a pop-up indicating their visit is about to begin.

 

For Phone Visits, you will be asked to collect a Credit Card or confirm one that may already be on file. “Don’t forget to mute your recording when collecting CC info.”
